Maja Wloszczowska

About

Mountain biker who became the cross-country UCI Mountain Bike World Champion in 2010 after having finished second five times in years past. She won Olympic silver medals in cross-country riding in 2008 and 2016.

Before Fame

She hails from the city of Jelenia Góra, Poland, which eventually created a race in her honor called the Jelenia Góra Trophy Maja Włoszczowska MTB Race.

Trivia

For her accomplishments in biking, she was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit, the highest civilian honor handed out by the Polish government. 

Family Life

She married race car driver Przemysław Zawada.

She competed against the likes of Canada's Emily Batty at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
