Mduduzi Edmund Tshabalala, or as he was better known, Mandoza, was an award-winning kwaito musician who released more than a dozen successful albums before his death at the hands of pharyngeal cancer in September 2016.
At sixteen he was charged with car theft and spent a year and a half in prison. Upon his release, he formed the musical group Chiskop with some childhood friends.
In 2001, he won Song of the Year at the South African Music Awards for his single "Nkalakatha."
He grew up in Soweto with his mother, grandparents, and two sisters. Following his death, he was survived by his wife, Mpho Tshabalala.
He was featured on the Tokollo Tshabalala single "It's All Right I See U."
