R&B singer who gained attention for her debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, which sold three million copies in the U.S. and was certified double-platinum. Her career was cut short after she died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in 2001.

Before Fame

She sang in her school choir and played Annie in her first-grade play. She signed with Blackground Records when she was twelve years old.


She starred in the 2000 action film Romeo Must Die playing the role of Trish O'Day.  Many people refer to her as the Queen of Urban Pop.

She was married to R. Kelly from August 30, 1994 until their annulment on February 7, 1995. Her mother's name is Diane Haughton and her father was Michael Haughton.
