Woman who made several television appearances discussing her rare genetic mutation. Her condition caused her legs to grow abnormally large in comparison to the rest of her body.
Doctors suggested that she have her legs amputated when she was just seven years old, but her mother would not allow it then. However, in 2010, she had to have her left leg amputated.
In 2009, she estimated that her legs weighed 210 pounds alone.
Her mother, June, wanted her to have the most normal childhood possible.
Her condition may have been caused by Proteus syndrome. Joseph Merrick, the subject of David Lynch's film The Elephant Man, was perhaps the most famous case of the disease.
