She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade from 1965 until 1970 and later taught at the Academy of Fine Arts at Novi Sad.
She won multiple awards for her work including New York Dance and Performance Awards in 2003.
She was married to Nesa Paripovic from 1971 until 1976 and Paolo Canevari from 2005 to 2009.
She maintained a friendship with actor James Franco who interviewed her for the Wall Street Journal in 2009.
