Pioneering modern art collector who became one of the founding trustees of the Museum of Modern Art.
She was hired in 1901 as an art teacher in the Queens, New York, public school system.
She became friends with Lillie Plummer Bliss and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller during the 1920s, two ladies who were also art patrons.
Her father was Thomas F. Quinn and her mother was Anne E. Gleason Quinn. In 1917, she married Cornelius J. Sullivan.
She studied under artist Roger Fry at the Slade School of Fine Art in London in 1910.
