Democratic politician who is known for being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from New York's 11th district. He is also known for having been a platoon leader for the US Army in Afghanistan.
He earned his degree in History from Wesleyan University and later his Masters in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics. After serving for several years in the military, he became Director of Public Engagements for the Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth P. Thompson.
He was awarded both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals for his military work.
He was born and raised in New York City and married his wife Leigh in March of 2018.
