Melba Ruffo

About

Dominican actress, model, and television host who is known for her recurring roles on television as well as her voice acting work. She is best recognized for having hosted several programs on the RAI network and for having starred in the films Il Conte di Melissa in 2001 and The Family of Memories in 1995. 

Before Fame

She started her career as a model, initially earning recognition as a contestant in the Miss Universe Dominican Republic pageant. In 1989, she gained attention as a UNESCO ambassador and that same year she made her television debut on the miniseries College. Her hosting career started in 1993 when she presented a live program on the Rai 2 network. 

Trivia

She is also known for her voice acting work and participated in the 1998 production of The Gabbianella and the Cat. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is also known for having married the Prince of Belgium Fulco Ruffo.

She starred alongside Max von Sydow and Letizia Ciampa in the 1998 television series Professione Fantasma.
