American rock climber who is known for being the first woman to successfully climb both 5.15a (9a+) sport climbing routes and V15 (8C) bouldering routes. She was also a member of the U.S. Climbing Team.

Before Fame

She started climbing at seven years old in an indoor gym, where she became involved in both competition climbing and outdoor trips to the Red River Gorge. By the time she was 15, she had begun competing on the international stage, finishing 22nd in the 2010 Boulder World Cup and 18th in the 2011 Lead World Cup.

Trivia

She won first place in the Women's Open division at the 28th Hueco Tanks Boulder Competition, earning a score of 7,437 points. Her michaelakiersch Instagram account has amassed over 180,000 followers.
