Before Fame

He grew up in a one-room cabin in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia. He began his career as a reporter for local newspapers in Wise County, Virginia when he was only thirteen years old.

He wrote one of the most popular self-help books of all time, Think and Grow Rich, which had sold more than 20 million copies by the time of his death.

Family Life

His mother died when he was just nine years old. He had a son named Blair.
