He moved to Utah for college and started selling T-shirts with his last name out of his backpack. He realized many pro snowboarders had apparel contracts that conflicted with wearing his shirts, so he pivoted to headwear instead. He founded and launched Neff Headwear in 2002,and grew it over the years from a dorm-hustle into a youth-culture staple through strategic collaborations with athletes and entertainers. His company Neff Headwear took outside investment in 2012 and was acquired in 2017. He joined the X Games ownership group as investor/advisor in 2024.
