Greek poet who is best known for a homoerotic collection entitled Beginning with O. Her other works include Pastoral Jazz, Soie Sauvage, and Perpetua.
She relocated from Greece to the United States on a Fulbright Scholarship and studied architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Later, she pursued a degree in creative writing at the University of Oregon.
She founded Freehand, Inc., a Cape Cod training program for women artists, in the 1980s.
Her first poetry collection, Beginning with O, celebrates her relationships with women.
She was honored in 1977 by poet Stanley Kunitz, who selected her work for publication through the prestigious Yale Younger Poets Series.
