American football player known for his time as quarterback of the Kentucky Wildcats, for whom he started 22 consecutive games. However, he was benched in his junior season and announced his intention to transfer to Boston College.
He was a standout in high school, winning several awards for player of the year in Kentucky. He won three consecutive state titles and compiled a record of 38-1.
He studied political science at Kentucky. At the time he left the school, he had thrown for the sixth-most yards in school history.
He was born to Terry and Amy Towles and has a brother named Thomas. His grandfather is Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Bunning.
