Veteran television actor who booked a substantial role late in his career on the long-running series EastEnders. His previous most well known roles on television were in Just Good Friends, The Adventures of Spot as the narrator, Bust, Close to Home and The Royal Today.
He was a pop singer before changing course to musical theatre. He went by the stage name Paul Dean and formed Paul Dean & The Dreamers. He then became the vocalist and pianist for The Savages before releasing two solo singles, and later signed with Robert Stigwood's Reaction Records label under the stage name Oscar.
He is a veteran of musical theatre, having starred as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and in productions of Grease, The Pirates of Penzance and many others. He also directed and produced a number of plays, such as The Rocky Horror Show.
His real name is Paul Oscar Beuselinck. He and his wife Linzi Nicholas have three children. He was first married to Susan Gee with whom he had two children.
He has starred and played supporting roles in a number of notable films, including the 1978 movie Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in which he was cast alongside Peter Frampton.
