Before Fame
He grew up in Bromsgrove and joined Walsall's School of Excellence before being recruited by Manchester City's academy in 2007. He progressed through the U16, U18, and Elite Development Squad teams before being promoted to the senior squad. He made his first-team debut for Manchester City on the final day of the 2010-11 Premier League season. He completed several loan spells during his career including at Ipswich Town in 2011-12, Oldham Athletic in 2012-13, Blackpool in 2013, and Doncaster Rovers in 2013. He began developing the concept for Manière De Voir while playing at Doncaster. He officially launched the brand while still an active player in 2013 and worked on the business between training sessions and matches until he fully transitioned to entrepreneurship in 2017.
Trivia
He was named to the PFA League One Team of the Year for the 2015-16 season while playing for Wigan Athletic. He retired from professional soccer when he was only 25 years old so he could focus on his entrepreneurial career.
