Known for being the Chairman of the Republican Party. He was elected to his third consecutive term in 2015 after having previously served as the Republican Chairman for Wisconsin.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cum laude in 1994 with a dual degree in English and political science. He served as president of the college Republicans.
During the 2016 election cycle, he rallied for Republican Party unification. He was elected as GOP Party Chairman in 2011 after 7 rounds of voting.
In 1999, he married his wife Sally. He shares two children with her.
He was preceded as chairman to the Republican Party by Michael Steele.
