Martial artist who is known for having an 8th degree red and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his rank under Carlos Gracie Jr. He is a former Pan American Champion in both 1996 and 1997 and is a veteran medalist of the ADCC.
He began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of five with his cousins. His uncle was the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Carlos Gracie, which put him on course to be a main competitor. At the age of 14, he began competing more seriously and began training every day.
He is sponsored by a sporting goods brand Sanabul and has an official product line within the company. He is also the commissioner of Jiu Jitsu World League.
He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
