Canadian politician and lawyer who served as the 8th Prime Minister of Canada from 1911 to 1920, during the first World War. He was the last prime minister to be knighted by the House of Commons.
He worked as a teacher before starting to work as a lawyer in 1874.
He played a key role in the creation of the Commonwealth of Nations during the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
He got married to Laura Bond in 1889; the couple did not have any children.
He succeeded Wilfrid Laurier as the Prime Minister of Canada in 1911.
