New York Times best-selling author and writer. She is also the co-founder of a company known as Cultures of Dignity. 

Before Fame

She attended Occidental College, where she pursued a degree in political science, graduating in the year 1991. She also obtained a degree in martial arts, specifically in blackbelt Tang Soo Do karate.

Trivia

She created the Owning Up Curriculum program. She has taught young women to "empower themselves via martial arts" and is passionate about "youth empowerment and leadership skills."

Family Life

She grew up in Washington D.C. with her two younger siblings and her parents Kathy and Steve Weisman. She met her husband James Edwards while at Occidental College. Wiseman is Jewish, with Jewish ancestors from Poland and Germany.

Associated With

Her book "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and Other Realities of Adolescence" was the basis of the pop culture phenomenon Mean Girls.
