Before beginning his work as a politician and royal, Salman studied science and religion at the Princes' School in Riyadh.
In 2012, upon his brother Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Sauddeath's death, Salman became Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
A member of the powerful House of Saud, he was one of over forty children born to King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia. Salman of Saudi Arabia's three marriages -- to Sultana bint Turki Al Sudairi, Sarah bint Faisal Al Subai'ai, and Fahda bint Falah bin Sultan Al Hithalayn -- resulted in a total of thirteen children.
