English poet who released her longest work Vivia Perpetua, A Dramatic Poem in 1841. She died of Tuberculosis at the age of 43.
She grew up in Old Harlow, Essex with her family and started writing hymns including Nearer, my God, to Thee.
Her hymn Nearer, my God, to Thee was said to have been the last piece of music that musicians played on the RMS Titanic as the ship sank in 1912.
She married William Bridges Adams in 1834.
