Sarina Koga

About

Women's volleyball player notably recognized as Japan's U23 senior national team captain. She competed with Japan's national team in the women's tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also earned the bronze medal at the 2013 U23 World Championship, where she was dubbed one of the best outside hitters. She frequently shares team photos and pictures with family members of her sarina.koga Instagram account, which has amassed 320,000 followers. 

Before Fame

While attending Kumamoto Shin-ai High School in 2011, she helped the girls' team win the All-Japan Junior High School championship. Only 1 year later, she earned the gold medal as well as the MVP award at the 2012 Asian Youth Girls Championship, where she was also the best scorer in the tournament. In 2015, she officially joined the NEC Red Rockets. 

Trivia

She won Japan V.Premier League's Best Newcomer Award (Rookie of the Year) during their 2015-16 season. She was also named their Best6 and Most Valuable Player the following year. 

Family Life

In December 2022, she married Yuji Nishida, who plays for the Japan Men's Volleyball Team as an opposite hitter.
