Singer and songwriter who was a pop star in the 1960s then later became an experimental musician with the turn of the 21st century. He first became known as the lead singer of The Walker Brothers, who had such hits as "Make It Easy on Yourself" and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)."
In the 1950s, he worked as a child actor and singer, moving to Los Angeles to help get his career in entertainment off the ground.
A documentary about him entitled Scott Walker: 30 Century Man was released in 2006, directed by Stephen Kijak.
His father worked as an oil industry manager and his career forced the family to move all around the United States when Scott was growing up.
He was featured on the Bat for Lashes song "The Big Sleep" in 2009.
