Son of Nigerian afrobeat musician Fela Kuti and leader of his father's Egypt 80 band. He became known for his vocals as well as for his performances on the saxophone.
He performed with Egypt 80 as a vocalist when he was young and began to lead the band at the age of fourteen after his father passed away.
He had to choose between his passions for music and African football.
He welcomed his first child, a daughter named Ifafunmike Adara Anikulapo-kuti, in 2013. His brother Femi Kuti also had a successful career as a musician.
His album with Egypt 80, From Africa with Fury: Rise, was produced by Brian Eno.
