Before Fame

She was known as the belly dancer girl to those in her school, and wrote a poem called "The Crystal Rose" when she was four. When she was attending UCLA, she would wear dark sunglasses and a hat so that people wouldn't gawk at her.

Her song "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" received over 500 million views and became the seventh most-watched video on YouTube. In 2016, she voiced the character Gazelle in the Disney animated film Zootopia. Family Life

She announced her relationship with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique in 2011. The couple welcomed their first son, Milan Piqué Mebarak, on January 22, 2013 and their second son, Sasha Pique Mebarak, on January 29, 2015. The couple announced their separation in 2022.
