Head of animation for the popular 1934 Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He worked on Woody Woodpecker as well.
He began his career in animation in 1925 as an employee of J.R. Bray studios.
His six decade-long animation career involved work for eighteen different studios, including Walt Disney Productions, Fleischer Studios, and Paramount Cartoon Studios.
He was married twice--to Maxine Marx and Juana Hegarty--and had two sons.
During his first marriage, he was the son-in-law of Marx Brothers actor and comedian Chico Marx.
