Sheila Kwamboka

About

Kenyan media personality, radio host, MC, and digital creator known for being a contestant on Big Brother Africa before becoming a prominent voice in Kenyan radio through her work on stations such as Vybez Radio and Kiss 100. She is also known for her Instagram account @kwambox where she has amassed a following of over 310,000 followers by sharing dance videos, lifestyle content, behind-the-scenes media work, and motivational posts.

Before fame

She played basketball at a competitive level as a youth, but her athletic career was cut short due to a knee injury which led her to explore other opportunities. She pursued pageantry and media and won the Miss Tourism Kenya title in 2005. She attended the University of Nairobi where she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. She worked as a television reporter after graduating including a stint with K24. Her major breakthrough came in 2008 when she joined Big Brother Africa 3 representing Kenya. She returned in 2010 for Big Brother Africa: All Stars where she reached the finals and finished in 5th place. She began her professional radio career around 2012. She became a key voice at Vybez Radio when it launched in 2019 by hosting the morning show. She joined Radio Africa Group in 2023 and became part of Kiss 100's breakfast show. 

Trivia

She was selected as part of Meta's Creators of Tomorrow campaign in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2022. She has been nominated for awards including Media Personality of the Year at the Africa Women Awards in 2023. She has also worked as an event MC and host.

She was born Sheila Patricia Kwamboka. She was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya.
