Chinese Shaolin kung fu and qigong master known for being a 34th-generation Shaolin Temple disciple, for teaching traditional Shaolin training worldwide, for popularizing monk-style conditioning such as Iron Shirt Qigong, and for creating modern Shaolin fitness programs, books, and online challenges which he shares with a global audience on YouTube and Instagram.
Before fame
He began practicing martial arts when he was 14 years old. He traveled across China to train at the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province as a teenager. He became a formal disciple of the Shaolin Temple and trained intensively in kung fu and qigong. He was invited to teach in the West when he was 28 years old which became the beginning of his international career. He relocated to Europe and the United Kingdom and began teaching Shaolin kung fu professionally. He began sharing early content online on YouTube in 2008. His channel gained a large amount of traction in 2016 after he began posting workout videos. He launched the 40-Day Shaolin Challenge in 2019 and expanded his online training programs significantly during 2020 to offer dozens of training courses.
Trivia
He is the author of several Shaolin training books including Instant Fitness: The Shaolin Kung Fu Workout and Instant Health: The Shaolin Qigong Workout for Longevity. He has appeared in martial arts film projects including The Turtle and the Sea where he played a martial artist.
Family life
He was born and raised in Xinjiang, China. He grew up as the youngest of seven children in a traditional family. His father was a fisherman. His childhood as difficult and disciplined with limited resources.
