She studied at the School of Visual Arts, graduating with a degree in photography. She also interned at Saturday Night Live while in school.
American Reflexxx received praise for its look at mob mentality as well as exposing prevalent discomforts about gender fluidity, as Pierce was dressed provocatively but kept her face hidden in a way that led many onlookers to accuse her of being a man.
She was born in Arizona, but also lived in California and Maryland as well.
