Before Fame
His humans began posting puppy photos of him on Instagram in July 2012 and he quickly gained a following. He was becoming recognized in 2013 and was discussed in a March 2013 Yahoo article. He was considered famous by 2016 and was featured in Seattle Magazine and in a Hallmark card.
Trivia
He was named after NBA legend Charles Barkley. He was listed by the Seattle Met listed as among the city's most famous animals in 2017 due to his large following and his inclusion in Mariners promotions. His owners reported that his is best trick was playing dead.
Family Life
He lived in Seattle with his owners Melissa and Paul. He had a human sister. He died in December 2024.
