Novelist who directed and wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of his 1999 bestselling work, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. His other works include screenplays for The Four Corners of Nowhere and Rent.
He graduated from the screenwriting program at the University of Southern California in 1992. After college, he wrote several screenplays, including Audrey Hepburn's Neck and Schoolhouse Rock.
He assisted in creating and producing the CBS series, Jericho.
He and his sister, Stacy, were the Pittsburgh-born children of tax preparer Lea Meyer and steelworker Fred Chbosky. He married Liz Chbosky in 2010.
He directed the film The Perks of Being a Wallflower starring Logan Lerman.
