Conservative journalist and author who previously served as a senior writer for National Journal and the editor-in-chief of The Weekly Standard. He has written several books on American foreign policy and The Connection (2004) and The Brain (2005).
He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at DePauw University. He later studied journalism at Columbia University.
He was a prominent supporter of the Iraq War and promoted the claim that there was a strong link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein.
He married a woman named Carrie and has several children.
He wrote a biography of Dick Cheney called Cheney: The Untold Story of America's Most Powerful and Controversial Vice President (2007).
