Before Fame

She was heavily involved in theatre and dance from a young age and trained in tap, musical theatre, and performance throughout her childhood and teen years. She began experimenting with drag around 2019. She moved to Brooklyn, New York and developed Suzie Toot into a fully realized stage persona. Her big break was being cast and appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 17 which premiered in January 2025.

Her out-of-drag name is Benjamin Shaevitz. She was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and grew up in nearby Wellington, Florida. She was born to an Irish Catholic mother named Susan, and a Russian-Jewish father, and was raised in a Jewish household.

She opened for Chappell Roan in 2023 during the Midwest Princess Tour. She competed alongside several Season 17 queens including Onya Nurve and Jewels Sparkles.
