Before fame
He began dancing when he was 6 years old. He originally trained in Boogie Woogie before transitioning to West Coast Swing. He began teaching dance when he was 15 years old. He entered his first West Coast Swing competition in October 2013 and quickly rose through the ranks until becoming a top All-Star dancer by 2017.

He has competed in multiple Swing divisions including Classic, Showcase, and Jack & Jill. He won the Champions division at The Open in 2022 and the French Open in 2023.
Family life
He grew up in a family where both of his parents were professional dance teachers and owned their own dance studio. His upbringing played a major role in his early training and career path. He eventually formed both a professional and personal partnership with Nicole Ramirez, and they married in 2020.
