She was one of six kids born to Curt Johnson and Tamara Jean in Provo, Utah. She began dating DWTS pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy in 2017 and they got engaged in June 2018. They married on April 13, 2019. In July 2022 the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together. They welcomed a son in January 2023.
