Brazilian singer, composer, and TV host known for his work in pagode and samba, for his time as a member of Exaltasamba from 2003 to 2012, and for his highly successful solo career launched with the live album Ousadia & Alegria. He is also known for hit songs such as "Ainda Bem," "Sou O Cara Pra Você," "Ousadia & Alegria," "Caraca, Muleke!," "Tá Vendo Aquela Lua," "Valeu," "Ponto Fraco," and "Energia Surreal" along with being recognized as a prolific composer having written or co-written many of his own hits and group-era classics.
Before fame
He began composing songs when he was 12 years old and learned guitar. He taught himself cavaquinho by his early teens. He had already formed his first samba group Sabe Demais by the time he was 15 years old and helped produce the group's debut CD. His national breakthrough came in 2002 when he competed on the Brazilian TV talent show Fama. He joined the popular pagode group Exaltasamba in 2003 which helped boost his career and presence. He began his solo career in 2012 after leaving Exaltasamba and releasing the live album Ousadia & Alegria.
Trivia
He co-wrote the song "Valeu" with Rodriguinho in 2010 which won a Digital Music Award for Most Popular Music. His solo debut Ousadia & Alegria earned him a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Samba/Pagode Album. He expanded his career into television and became the host of Multishow's Música Boa ao Vivo in 2014. He has been affiliated with Virgin Music.
Family life
His real name is Thiago André Barbosa. He was born and raised in Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, Brazil. He was married to Brazilian actress and TV host Fernanda Souza from 2015 until 2019.
