South African actor, writer, director, and creative producer known for his roles as Skiets in Hard to Get and Tashaka in Tell Me Sweet Something along with appearing in the series Rhythm City, Tempy Pushas, High Rollers, It's Complicated, Imposter, The Book of Negroes, Madiba, Trapped, and Blood Psalms. He is also known for expanding into writing and directing including working on shows such as Isidingo, Rhythm City, Is'Thunzi, Emoyeni, and MTV Shuga Down South 2.

Before fame

He studied scriptwriting and directing after high school before enrolling at the African Film and Drama Academy. He then trained in acting for film at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He began his professional acting career in 2011 with Man on Ground. He landed his breakthrough role in 2014 when he starred as Skiets in Hard to Get. He made his directing debut with short films such as Out of Luck, Subdued, and Between the Lines, before gaining wider recognition as a director in 2019 when he directed multiple episodes of MTV Shuga Down South 2.

Trivia

He won the Africa Movie Academy Award in 2016 for Tell Me Sweet Something and received SAFTA recognition for Hard to Get. He co-created, wrote, and directed the supernatural drama Emoyeni. He uses both he/him and they/them pronouns.

Family life

He was born and raised in South Africa. He is a parent. He was previously in a relationship with South African actress Mandisa Nduna, and the couple became known for their visibility within the LGBTQ+ community before their separation in 2020.
