An originator of the "popping" dance style who rose to fame as a member of the street dance crew The Electric Boogaloos. The group went on to choreograph Michael Jackson's legendary "Thriller" and "Beat It" music videos.
He joined The Electric Boogaloos in 1978 and adopted the nickname Popin' Pete.
In 2012, he was a recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award at The Carnival: Choreographer's Ball.
He had a son named Straphanio Solomon.
He appeared in Chris Brown's "Yeah 3x" music video.
