Before fame

He began singing in church choirs as a child. He developed a passion for writing poetry and lyrics while attending school in Haiti. He began performing publicly when he was 14 years old. He released his first single "Sa Blan Di" in 2016. He released his first album Vibe sou Vibe in 2022. His song "Happy Birthday" went viral in 2022 and helped boost his following.

He wrote "Stand By" in honor of fellow rapper MechansT after he went missing in 2024. He performs in Haitian Creole, French, and English-influenced slang.

Family life

He was born Owen Martinez Fava and grew up in a Christian family where music played a major role. His stage name "Toby" comes from his grandfather who was a troubadour guitarist and one of the biggest musical influences in his life.
