Hall of Fame wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1957 until 1963. He later played for the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons. He was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.
He never lost a game during his college career at the University of Oklahoma under legendary coach Bud Wilkinson.
With the exception of kickers, he was the last NFL athlete to play without a facemask.
He fathered four children with his wife, Patty.
He was also an accomplished painter and sold a portrait of Joe DiMaggio for $4,000.
