Trivia
From 2004 to 2006, he served as Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. While serving on the police force, he was honored with a handful of medals. He was also a Freemason.

In 1955, he married Joy Stock and they had four children.
