Before fame
He experienced a life-changing medical crisis at around 11 years old when he was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis and temporarily lost the use of his legs. He recovered in a way he describes as medically unexplained which became foundational to his interest in theology and faith. He attended high school in Elliot Lake, Ontario, during the mid-to-late 2000s. He earned a BA in Sociology from York University in the early 2010s while competing in track and field. He completed a Master of Theological Studies at Tyndale University in the mid-2010s. He began doctoral work at the University of Toronto's Wycliffe College and began sharing content on YouTube in 2016.
Trivia
He went viral in October 2024 after a widely shared debate with Billy Carson about biblical history and manuscript evidence. He contributed scholarly entries to Melton's Encyclopedia of American Religions in 2023.
Family life
He was in Multan, Pakistan, and spent his early years in the Middle East before moving to Canada where he was raised. He became a husband in 2015. He has four children.
