Conductor and pianist who was principal conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra from 2008 to 2018. He also served as music director of the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montréal, the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Before Fame
He started studying piano at age five. He attended the Montreal Conservatory and Westminster Choir College, College of Bois-de-Boulogne.
Trivia
In March 2022, he and the Metropolitan Opera performed a charity concert for Ukraine following the Russian invasion. The concert was recorded for a digital release album.
Family Life
He met his partner, violinist Pierre Tourville, when they were students at the Montreal Conservatory. His parents are Claudine Nézet and Serge Séguin.

He opened the Metropolitan Opera's 2015-16 season conducting a new production of Giuseppe Verdi's Otello.
