Before fame

She was raised in Switzerland and spent part of her childhood in China before going on to study fashion design at Geneva's Haute École d'Art et de Design (HEAD). She went on to relocate to Montreal in 1993, where she further studied media and interactive multimedia while developing her signature experimental approach to fashion design.
