About
Painter, photographer, and sculptor who created grim Baroque and Gothic art. He was stabbed to death at his Warsaw apartment by the teenage son of his caretaker. There is a museum dedicated to his work in Sanok, Poland.
Before Fame
He studied architecture at Kraków Polytechnic. He worked as a construction site supervisor.
Trivia
He wrote short stories which were published until after his death. He and his family are portrayed in the 2016 film The Last Family.
Family Life
His wife, Zofia Helena Stankiewicz, died in 1998. His son, radio host Tomasz Beksiński, died by suicide the following year.
