She first found a love of singing at the age of eleven singing along to traditional Samoan country songs with her mother. It was then that she began writing her own songs.

After getting kicked out of her choir at Porirua College, she formed a girl band called Lovera.

Her mother Sia was born in Samoa and her father Jayanti was from Navsari, India.
