Before fame
He began training as a professional wrestler through the CZW Academy and additional traditional wrestling schools. He made his official in-ring debut in April 2015 competing across the U.S. independent circuit during his teenage years. He spent several years refining his in-ring style and persona which ultimately caught the attention of IMPACT Wrestling and led to him signing in 2019. He won the Super X Cup at Genesis in January 2021 which was his first major tournament victory on a national stage.

He models parts of his in-ring pacing on video game boss fights. He competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Best of the Super Juniors tournament. He is considered one of the youngest wrestlers to hold the X Division Championship after first winning the title in 2019 when he was just 22 years old.
