Film producer, entrepreneur, and executive known for producing films such as Donnie Darko, Limitless, Money Train, Drive Angry, The Wedding Ringer, The Disappointments Room, Safe Haven, and The Killer's Game. He is also known as the founder of Preview Tech.

Before Fame

He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he developed his passion for film by organizing campus film festivals. His professional journey began at Creative Artists Agency as an assistant to agent Martin Baum. His first film as executive producer was Vision Quest in 1985. 

Trivia

He played an important role in the success of the 1983 film Flashdance's soundtrack, which achieved multi-platinum status and significantly contributed to the film's box office success. He worked alongside studio chief Ned Tanen to oversee the development of John Hughes's directorial debut Sixteen Candles in 1984, and his subsequent film The Breakfast Club in 1985.  He became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1988.

He co-wrote and produced Brokedown Palace starring Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale in 1999. He produced the comedy The Wedding Ringer in 2015, starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad.
