International travel content creator who rose to fame for sharing videos of her experience as a Scottish-born citizen living temporarily between Malaysia and Indonesia on an educational exchange program. She has also lived in Kenya and Turkey, and traveled to other international hot spots like Hong Kong, Vietnam, Bali, Phuket, and Malta, among others. With over 140,000 followers on her alanadunsmore TikTok account and more than 160,000 subscribers on her self-titled YouTube channel, her uploads have lightheartedly demonstrated her journey adapting to the differences between her native land and countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, while primarily highlighting the benefits and keynotes of their rich culture, cuisine, language, and overall lifestyle.

Before Fame

She began attending the University of Edinburgh in 2017 to complete her studies for a Master of Arts degree in International Business. In the year 2019, she traveled to Malaysia as part of a 1-year exchange program at Kuala Lumpur's Premier School of Business, Government, & Education at the Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). From March to April of 2020, she also held an internship at myWorld Malaysia.

Trivia

Being left-hand dominant, she has shared several comedic videos on her TikTok account in which she demonstrated her frustration with frequently making the mistake of eating with her left hand. Eating with one's left hand in Malaysia, as well as several other countries including India, Kyrgyzstan, and Indonesia, is widely considered to be unsanitary, inappropriate, and even rude.

Family Life

From December 2022 to January 2023, her mother stayed with her in Malaysia. During the visit, her mother's reaction to tasting the chocolate-flavored Australian Nestle beverage MILO Ais (which is massively popular in Malaysia) was actually featured in Malaysia's Daily Makan newspaper. Her cousin also made an appearance in one of her videos posted on November 3, 2023.
