Former figure skater from Russia best known for winning the gold medal in the men's singles event at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. He also won four World Championships and three European Championships.

Before Fame

He began skating at age four and won a bronze medal at his first World Championships in 1997.

Trivia

One of his World Championship gold medals was lost after the car it was sitting in was stolen in 2008.

He has a daughter named Elizaveta with skater Tatiana Totmianina.
